An Interview with Bec and KD, Two of Our Medispa Nurses

Welcome to North Coast Medispa! If you’re new here, Medispa is a place for people who want to feel beautiful, and grow their confidence in their own skin. Today we’re talking about the heart and soul of what we do.

That’s why we sat down with two of our brilliant nurses to hear their thoughts on Medispa’s treatments. Some people may think that because we’re a Medispa, our work is only ‘skin deep’. That we are only concerned with appearances. While it’s true that we do care about your appearance – and every one of our staff can give you the professional care you need – that is not all we do. We’re all about giving you confidence. We want to help you look beautiful, and feel beautiful too. So we asked our nurses a few questions about our treatments, skin-care, and the power of confidence, to see what they had to say.

What’s the most common question clients ask you every day?

We hear two questions every day at Medispa. The first is simply, “How do I look fresher?” says Nurse Bec. This is a very common concern. The effects of daily life, ageing, and wear and tear on the skin can sometimes leave us looking ragged. This can be further aggravated by excessive time in the sun, or not enough sleep. So if you’ve been asking yourself this question, you’re not alone.

The other most common question Nurse KD hears is, “What can be done for lower face sagging?” Many of our clients can feel a bit self-conscious about signs of ageing. The good news is there is a lot that Medispa can do to help. This ties into our next question for our nurses:

What is the most common treatment you perform?

Both Bec & KD had the same answer for this one. “Anti-Wrinkle Injections and Skin Needling”. These are the two treatments our nurses perform on a day to day basis. If you’ve been considering having anti-wrinkle injections with us, you are in very safe hands. It takes 30 minutes to perform, and there’s no down time for recovery. If this is a treatment you’ve been curious to try for some time, then let us know. We’d love to help you look and feel younger & fresher.

What’s the most common excuse you hear for people not taking care of their skin?

Skin-care is crucial for keeping your face looking fresh and young. Yet a lot of people neglect their skin, only to feel bad about their appearance later on when the effects of skin-care neglect starts to show. That’s why we asked our nurses this question. They shared four common excuses why people don’t take care of their skin.

“They don’t like the feel of sunscreen on their skin.” says KD. We must wear sunscreen every day. This is because most skin damage is caused by the harsh Australian sun. So all the skin-care you do can be undone if you simply skip applying sunscreen. You can check out our products for sunscreen that doesn’t leave you with a greasy feel, ask our Skin Therapists for their recommendation when you are in next.

KD also mentioned that another excuse is “the damage has already happened when they were younger.” While this may be true, there’s still a lot you can do now to undo that damage. And if you start to take care of your skin now, you can keep that damage from getting any worse.

Bec mentions that a common excuse is her clients having “no time.” Yes, a lack of time can impact all forms of self-care. If you’re short on time for skin-care, try adding one small thing to your skin-care routine. It takes less than a minute to moisturise!

Another excuse that Bec hears often is that “they’re on a budget.” If you’re working on a budget, it’s best to pick something smaller and manageable. You can still have a complimentary Skin Assessment at Medispa to receive professional, expert skin health advice. Then you can use a product from our clinic, recommended by our therapist to self-administer your skin-care.

If there was one skin-care technique you thought everyone should use, what would it be?

Bec advises something you can do on your own at low cost, from home. “Exfoliate once to twice per week.” Exfoliating is a great way to unblock pores and clear debris from your skin. Just remember to not over-exfoliate. This can damage your skin’s health, forcing it to repair itself before it can return to normal.

KD recommends a treatment here in clinic called LED Phototherapy, or “LED light.” KD recommends this because, “there is a program for everyone.” LED light is used to treat a wide variety of skin conditions, such as acne, wrinkles, sun damage, and pigmentation.

Final Question: How does Medispa’s treatments help you improve your confidence?

Yes, of course we utilise what we offer. Sometimes we all need a confidence boost too! KD said she has “confidence in telling clients about treatments as I’ve personally had them done.” This is because we want to make sure you are in the best hands while having your treatments with us. We use our treatments ourselves so that we can better help you through the process.

Bec answered, “by having good skin I feel I only need minimal injectables to get a great result.” This is very true! Taking care of your skin regularly makes it easy to maintain your skin at a great, healthy level.
