Frequently Asked Questions

Kleresca combines a high-intensity lamp together with a photoconverter gel to specifically target acne and stimulate a healing response in the skin.

The Kleresca gel is not absorbed by the skin, it sits on top of the skin and once activated by the light, targets the bacteria responsible for acne (p. acnes) and normalises cellular activity to reduce inflammation. This process also encourages the production of collagen in the skin, which can help reduce the signs of scarring and provide an overall rejuvenation of the skin. The repairing effects of this treatment may continue for up to twenty-two weeks.

The light-activated cream will feel warm, and may cause a tingling sensation, but is not painful.

A series of two treatments per week over a six week period is recommended however, North Coast Medispa is currently researching a new treatment protocol which requires only one treatment per week (effectively reducing the cost of treatment in half).

Results will occur gradually over the treatment series, with most noticeable effects happening towards the end of the series. Visible improvements will actually continue to occur for months after finishing the treatment..

Yes! Kleresca is also suitable for general skin rejuvenation to improve your complexion and overall skin quality. Kleresca treatment helps to induce collagen production, reduce pore size, fine lines and the signs of scarring. The effects continue to be seen for up to 22 weeks after treatment has completed.

It may be a great alternative to chemical peels or laser rejuvenation, depending on your specific skin concerns.
